Dr Michael Blandy

Doctor Of Chiropractic

Back Pain | Best Chiropractors In Auckland

Dr. Michael Blandy's personal journey into chiropractic care began in South Africa, where his national-level mountain biking career was cut short by debilitating fractures and spinal injuries. When traditional medical and physiotherapy treatments proved ineffective, and the long-term impact of his injuries worsened, Michael sought a different path to regain his health. A pivotal referral to a chiropractor revealed previously undiagnosed issues within his spine and nervous system, leading to a remarkable and swift recovery that allowed him to return to racing. This transformative experience ignited a new passion and purpose: to bring renewed strength and health to others.

Driven by this mission, Dr. Blandy immigrated to New Zealand to earn his Doctor of Chiropractic degree. Over 17 years in practice, he has profoundly impacted hundreds of lives across Singapore, Australia, and New Zealand, addressing diverse health conditions. Committed to even the most complex cases, Dr. Blandy continually refines his skills, notably obtaining post-graduate certification in Applied Kinesiology in 2004, which he combines with Chiropractic BioPhysics technique, the most researched system in spinal rehabilitation.

Now a devoted husband and father of two, Dr. Blandy is a passionate advocate for a chiropractic lifestyle. He champions proactive spinal and nervous system care from birth, having personally witnessed the confidence and well-being it fosters within his own family.

As a child I watched my grandmother suffer from an unsuccessful hip surgery. She gradually lost her independence and became more reliant on medication to get through the day. Over time all we could do together was play card games and read story books. She was sore, grumpy and not fun to play with. I wanted to help but couldn't do much more than bring the tea and biscuits through to her. I remember thinking "surely some smart doctor somewhere can help her?" Later on as an adolescent I was a very keen mountain bike racer. Multiple crashes and rigorous training over the years started to take their toll. Unfortunately I got to the stage where I couldn't train or race anymore. Two GP's and 2 sports physiotherapists later I still wasn't any better. I had a few visits to the local Chiropractor and never turned back. I'd found my calling and now after 19 years of full time chiropractic practice I'm still in wonder at the miracles pts experience as their spine untwists, pressure comes off the nerves and their body heals.
