Dr Mari-lize graduated from the New Zealand College of Chiropractic and has spent the past seven years practicing in Wellington. During this time, she has gained extensive experience caring for a wide range of patients and feels privileged to support each individual on their journey toward better health and wellbeing.

She is passionate about helping people feel and function at their best and loves working with individuals and families from all walks of life. Mari-lize especially enjoys seeing whole families under care and witnessing the positive changes that chiropractic can bring to every stage of life.

Outside of the clinic, Mari-lize enjoys keeping active at the gym, going for walks or runs in nature, and catching up with loved ones over a good coffee. She loves reading both self-development and easy fiction books and often spends her downtime trying out new recipes in the kitchen.

    Keep it simple! Small, consistent changes that become habits often make a bigger impact than big changes that aren’t sustainable.

  • Q: How do you like to de-stress after a busy day?

    Exercise is my go-to - whether that’s the gym, a run, or pilates. I also love winding down with an easy-to-watch show like Friends or Modern Family.

    I make sure to move my body every day - a walk, run, gym session, or pilates. And I practice daily gratitude to keep a positive mindset.

    Movement! It keeps me grounded, energised, and feeling my best.

    I love Atomic Habits and The DOSE Effect. I also enjoy listening to interviews with Dr. Stacy Sims - she shares such valuable insights on women’s health and performance.

    Making exercise a consistent part of my daily routine - I love the physical and mental benefits it brings.

    Switching from scrolling to reading before bed - it’s made such a difference in how I unwind and sleep.

    Going for a run in nature - especially when I can share it with my siblings!

    A good pun or dad joke - especially the ones that take me a second to get and then end up being hilarious!

Q: What inspired you to pursue a career in wellness?

I’ve always had an interest in health and wellness and love working with people. Chiropractic allows me to combine both by helping others on their individual wellness journeys.
